Garbage should be contained in receptacles as provided by the disposal service provider and are to be stored in the homeowner’s garage. Recycling procedures must conform to Village of Mokena and the disposal service provider guidelines.

All refuse, yard waste and recycling are to be put out no earlier than dusk on the night before pick-up.

Any litter or trash remaining on the ground after pick-up must be removed by the resident on the day of pick up. Empty containers should be returned to the garage for storage on the day of pick up.

Large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, etc.) will not be picked up with the regular trash. Residents should call disposal service to schedule pickup. Large items must be removed within 48 hours after being brought to the curb. Any cost of pickup is the responsibility of the homeowner.

Trash and leaf burning are strictly prohibited.

Should a resident require a dumpster for remodeling or construction work, prior written permission must be obtained from the managing agent before delivery of the dumpster.
